Mini 03 Workshop Standing
Breaking down 2 little standing sequences, notice the variations you can take in each pose, as well as some new alignment cues and modifications which will aid your stability. Creating greater understanding of how to find space and strength in each posture. Here we take a look at Warrior 1 pose (Virabhadrasana 1) – Warrior 3 pose (Virabhadrasana 3) – Standing split AND High lunge pose - Warrior 2 pose (Virabhadrasana 2) – Extended Side Angle pose (Utthita Parsvakonasana) – Triangle pose (Trikonasana) and finally pyramid pose (parsvottanasana).

An intro into this 4 part series where we shall be breaking down a Sun A, Sun B, a mini standing flow and finishing with a bonus class for teachers looking to spice up their Sun B sequences. In this video we look closely at a Sun A. Building Connection
So much of todays yoga is focused on asana - on how we look from the outside. But this practice is all about our felt sense of the body. Building the connection between breath and movement. After-all this is what yoga means - to yoke. To combine the body with the breath, the heart with the head, to find the great connection between us and the earth we live on. Expect some variations on the more traditional high lunge and fallen star. A playful practice with a peppering of philosophy ;)

Out to In
A (sun like) blitz to get you moving from the outer most edges of your skin and back to your inner most core. Here we expand to contract and contract to expand again. Expect to come off your mat with some ‘wilder’ wild things, lunge dips and a variety of side openers like half moon and kneeling stretches to find greater extension in the side body. There are not Sun salutation B’s in this flow - straight into creativity and play.

Lets Rise
Feel into a lift of energy as we creep into spring time. Enjoy this typical water vinyasa as we layer one sequence onto the next. As we allow the state of flow to take over, can we get out of our heads and into our bodies? A practice that has it all, a energising mix of ardha chandrasana (half moons), Utkata Konasana (goddess squat) and Vashistasana (side plank). Prepare to be softly awakened in this continuous flow.

Wintery Waters
A warm wintery practice to feel into the effortless force of water. In Chinese medicine winter and the cooler months represents the element of water symbolizing pre-birth and death. It is here that we re-charge the body and develop our strength to continue onwards. Let us feel into the regeneration of cells and a downward pressure of the limbs in this continuous flow of pause and release. Can you feel the movement within stillness? Our brilliant ability to KEEP GOING even when we may ‘appear’ to be quieter and withdrawn. Enjoy a repeated sequence made up of parsvottanasana, shiva twists and a cheeky inversion to finish.

A playful vinyasa which works in a few repetitive movements to explore the mobility of the spine and agility of the mind as we roll from seated into standing. Let’s move with compassion as we unfurl the limbs from standing into seated and back again. This water practice moves at a steady pace, front to back around the whole mat. Tune in the natural state of your body, it’s wondrous form and buoyancy as we let go of rigid postural cues and colour outside of the lines! This is a personal favourite when I want to feel physically creative yet grounded.

Water Goddess Saraswati
The second part of your mini goddess series, here we flow through a steady sequence which is dedicated to Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, wisdom, art, and learning. Sweet
A LIVE RECORDING.
A juicy water vinyasa which leans into our inherent beauty. The divine sweetness that we see around is indeed within the roots of the body. Can we begin to feel into these similarities. Allow a sense of trust as we try a little less in this simple vinyasa flow. Here we learn to let go and expand. Let’s radiate from centre into our 5 limbs (arms, legs and head) - mimicking expansive light of beauty and innate wholeness which we are born with. This is a practice you can relax into. Expect some repeated sequences moving from some strong holds into seated stretches.

Float
Simple and serene this water practice will focus on an array of pyramid poses to stretch your legs and activate a little hip adduction. Let’s play with our sensations of buoyancy and float. Even when we are completely still the bodies vibrational qualities dilate via the heart outwards. Can we sense into our internal float - our capacity to hover from the front all the way to the back body. Eventually can we feel into our heads sinking towards this floating heart? Enjoy the hearts pulsation - it can be felt around the whole circumference of the body as we hold steady and float.

Soothing Waters
A gentle, uncomplicated vinyasa flow where we shall move continuously. Starting the practice with some deep hip-openers from the front to the back of the mat, towards a more tradition vinyasa throughout the middle. Learn to engage your adductors as well as your abductors in this slow yet warming flow. Here we release tension in the outer hips and promote self-care. A lovely practise to pair with the STUDIO TALK - ‘VIVEKA”.

Teeter
A vinyasa flow to work into the suspension of your hip flexors and explore the unknown sensations of some funky balances. A playful practise which will drive you through some strong repeated movements, building heat slowly, but remaining anchored within the breath and inner stability. Watch as the mind pivots between known (traditional asanas) and the (sometimes wobbly) unknown. Remember it’s ok to fall, this is the type of practise you can just keep coming back to.
