In the Past

Spend a little moment pondering over the concept of time in this energising and powerful vinyasa flow. Bryon Katie a beautiful Author of ‘The Mind at Home with Itself’ gives a lovely analogy of time as it moves past the body like the wake of a ship. How pain or discomfort are always in a process of finishing but joy and love are always head of us - ‘eventually though practise, you no longer impose your thinking onto reality, and can experience everything as it really is: pure grace’. This vinyasa toys with this notion and works into a multitude of quad stretches, deep hip holds and funky binds. A longer practise which mainly focuses on standing postures with a short stretch before savasana.

Into Axis

What does your centre mean to you? What does it look like, feel like, sound like? Here we work into a fiery vinyasa flow designed to wake up your back chain and abdominals through a collection of passive and active holds.

A practise inspired by Ksmaraja’s 17th Sutra; ‘The joy of awareness is discovered through the expansion of the centre. The blessed Goddess who is simply Awareness is called the ‘centre’ because she continuously exists as the most intimate core of all, and because it is impossible that anything could exist separately from that ground’ - Recognition Sutras.

Enjoy the gentle pull and push of limps coming into the central axis of the body, this can be felt even in stillness.

Hands to Hold

A nourishing vinyasa flow followed by a twisty yin practise to finish. Enjoy this accessible and stretch flow which moves through some nonlinear side body stretches, hip openers and gentle backbends. Here we look at how our hands hold the body, the ribs, the back of the skull and finally the heart. There is a sensitivity to be felt, a closeness of physical touch reminding us that we are indeed a part of Earth, rooted by touch and gravity's gentle pull.

Karmic Coils

Looking at the body as a compressed coil, ready to spring into action at any moment. This strong layered practise continually works through ‘figure four’ hip openers, following our own intuition to balance in-between flexion with extension. Prepare to move dynamically, with the inclusion of inversions, asymmetrical balances and lateral stretches. This is a lovely opportunity to study the after affects, the imprint (samskara) off strong physical action (karma).
