A Journey Through the Elements
A 2h practise, hugely inspired by first few chapters of The Recognition Sutras by Chris Wallis. We start in the Air series, setting a firm foundation for the rest of the flow, at the heart, the central pillar of this Tantric text. Here we ground the body via light pranayama and a guided meditation. From Air we merge into the Sun series, working into a vigorous vinyasa practise to promote a little heat but constantly anchoring back into the ground of awareness. Finally delving into a short but sweet water vinyasa and finally finishing with Earthy yin.
Take the time to move slowly and mindfully in this practise. Allow the words from The Recognition Sutras to land within you, via this open level workshop.

A full heart flow which touches upon the concept of dharma. Living with purpose and duty not just to ourselves but for the greater good. Readings taken from The Living Gita, by Sri Swami Satchidananda - ‘it is better to do your own dharma (calling) even imperfectly than someone else’s dharma perfectly’. Consider this verse in this mandala inspired practise. Who are you living for? Who do you practise for? Have you ever really had the time to think about it. Here we take a look as a variety of backbends, side stretches and asymmetrical binds in a playful yet challenging vinyasa flow.

Power Yoga
Here we look into the concept of ‘Alignment’, not just in our physical self but how our thoughts, words and actions can find a common ground. This is living in Satya, true in mind, body and soul. Work through a multitude of twists and strong backbends during this power flow. Here we test the ego as we constantly ask the question ‘how do I feel’ and ‘how are my actions aligning with my innate feeling’? Be prepared to sweat and flow constantly from pose to pose. This practise has a little bit of everything. ENJOY!

A yummy splits flow, divided into seated and standing poses that circulate around the mat. A practise to really open up the hamstrings and hips, looking closely at hanumanasana and visvamitrasana. A quietly strong vinyasa, with a sprinkling of hand balances. Here we touch upon the presence of tension within the body. We all require a certain level of tension to move however more often than not, we are over tense. Can we move with a quiet calm at all times, balancing just enough effort in our practise. Sthira Sukham Asanam.
