Japa
One way of achieving an ‘unattached state’ where we can allow the body to surrender into a state of flow is to find direct mental focus. Patanjali called this ‘the one pointed mind' and he gives lots of methods of achieving this within his ‘Yoga Sutras’. One way is to really focus on intention. One thread to allow other thoughts to melt away. Japa - means to be repeated again and again, an internal mantra to be recited silently within the practitioner's mind during this class. Here we practise this vinyasa flow to soothe our mental state with a one pointed mind.
